How to convert MMYYYY to DDMMYYY format in a table?

Hello experts,

I have an existing Z table with a field as Period(char 6) and now request is need to convert it to DATS(DDMMYYYY). I have added new data element and in domain mentioned DATS but the values I need it converted to present format. Bit is showing as .MM.YYYY without date.

Please help me how to achieve this ?

You will need a program to do this. And do it in 2 times.

What is your current code?

NB: it's not recommended in an international system to store in a table with format MMYYYY. You'd better store YYYYMM (as SAP does if I'm not mistaken).
