How to Catch File Format issue in BODS job and send mail alert to Business User

Hi All,

How can i send mail to user if the Source File Format is wrong. For example if the Source File is having any extra Column or less Column then an Exception should be caught and the Job shouldn't progress further and then send a mail to User saying that the File Format is Wrong.

I am using Try and Catch Block before and after the Extracting Dataflow and i have checked all possible kind of erros including Flat File Processing but it seems even i send a wrong file i can see the error is getting generated in the error log but the job is progressing even after that.

How can o resolve this. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Did you ever figure this out? I have a situation that is exactly what you described. The physical file and the flat file format don't match. But the Try/Catch never catches the exception. So a failure email never gets sent out.
