How to Attach a Graphical Plan or Other Non-Image File to a Question in the Forum

I'm sure that there used to be a paper-clip symbol on the button bar in the editor that allowed you to attach other file types (eg graphical plans) to a question, but it seems to have disappeared at some point. Is there some other way of doing this now?

Thanks

We upgraded the Q&A software that the forum uses in March 2015. It seems that this feature was removed in the new version.

Having had a look on OSQA's site, it seems to be part of the encouragement to trade up to the paid for version - AnswerHub

So what would be the recommended way to attach such files - send it to a SAP employee, share it via some other site or what else?

The paper clip icon disappeared at some point between April 2011 and September 2015.

INListScan in query plan

FWIW: You could have attached the two plans to your posting directly on this site using the "paper clip" (aka Attach File) tool shown above the text box when you were entering your question.

UNION ALL taking far longer than individual queries

I was going to upload the plans but I don't see the attach file (paper clip?) button any more 🙂

Just as a test:

I added a dummy .saplan file, but had to add a .jpg extension to trick the upload dialog...

Now we'll see what we get:)

OK, we do not see anything - so that's no workaround (which is a good thing, as we wouldn't like an "MyNextVirus.exe.jpg" upload here...)

We don't see anything because browser thinks it is an image when in fact it is not.

Right click -> Save as... When finished downloading, remove .jpg extension, you don't need it anymore :).

Yes, but that's within the comment, not within the answer with the original added "image" (at least for me the browser does not offer any hyperlink within the answer), and apparently it requires some effort to

  • trick the upload dialog and
  • adjust the text so it shows a link instead of an embedded image...

However, you are correct that this may be a workaround:)
