How to Assign specific Fiori Application to User ?

Hello All !

Instead of assigning multiple apps by assigning a business role, I need to know how to assign a specific Fiori application to a user. Because by providing the relevant role, it also contains some other applications that the user does not need to access. Also this leads to a performance issue with every login (startup screen took a while to load).

Even if we go for custom role creation we've to assign the concerned catalog which is also do the same as above.

Is there any alternative way like the old model where we create a custom group and put the specific tile we need.

The way is was before on SAP S/4 Hana on-premise

Example : If i want to assign Create supplier invoice app

1. I can create custom group

2. After that i can put the app specifically which i want

Thanks in Advance !

HI Gurubalan,

You are correct. Contact your FIORI Developer and ask him to create as he has to do some technical stuffs like target mappings.

Either way, user can hide apps which he dont want to see. Either user can do it from his FLP or FIORI admin can control it.

Hi Shanthakumar,

Thanks for sharing your valuable suggestion. Unfortunately we don't have a Fiori developer in our organization. I am the responsible guy for doing this activity. Of course I will dive deeper and let you know soon🤝

Update: I now see here that your question is not about the on-premise solution, I'll leave my answer anyway, I am not familiar with the cloud version..

Hi Guru Balan,

You can create your own business catalog and group in the Fiori Launchpad Designer for an existing app and link those to a bespoke role. In short:

  1. Link an open customizing transport task to the Fiori Launchpad Designer (cog/wheel top right).
  2. Create an empty catalog in the 'catalogs' section of the Fiori Launchpad Designer.
  3. Navigate to the original 'Create supplier invoice' app in Fiori Launchpad Designer and for both the tile and target mapping create a reference to the catalog you have just created.
  4. Create an empty group in the 'groups' section of the Fiori Launchpad Designer.
  5. Create a link to the tile in your newly created catalog to this group.
  6. Create a role, link both the group and catalog to the role menu and update & generate the authorizations.

Hope this helps,

Jurjen

Hello jheecksuperp,

Your suggestion works perfectly with the on-prime version. But I think they have changed the scenario in the cloud environment. I've been digging this for the past 1 week. Once I get the solution will surely share you the alternative.

Thanks for spending your precious time with me 😊
