How to Add Calculated Measures from Two Different Models in SAC Story

Hi,

I’m working on a SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Story, and I have the following requirement:

I have two calculated measures, each coming from a different analytical model (1  From Datasphere and other third Party Tools), and I’d like to create a new calculated measure by adding them together to use in a chart or KPI in the story.

Example:

  • From Model A, I have a calculated measure: Online Sales Revenue

  • From Model B, I have another calculated measure: Retail Store Sales Revenue

I want to create a new measure like:

Total Sales Revenue = Online Sales Revenue + Retail Store Sales Revenue

and use this total in a Combined KPI tile or chart within the same story.

How can we  Achieve this in SAC Story .

@SKSKumar

You can only use 2 measure from 2 different model to create a third measure if the models are blended. Given that one of you model is DS based, just check if blending is possible. Without blending you cannot use measures from different model.

@nikhil .. Data Blending is not supported in "Optimized Mode"

Yeah I had that feeling that's why asked you to check if blending is possible. Assuming the DS Analytical model is consumed live in SAC, LINK formula option also might not exist. So looks like it would not be possible. Only option is you create another AM in DS where you combine both data.

Thank you @ Nikhil ..

Actually That functionality is possible only if both Analytical Models originate from DataSphere. Unfortunately, the feature we previously had in Web Intelligence (WEBI) for merging datasets is not available in SAC. It’s quite limiting that a data analytics tool like SAP SAC lacks such essential capabilities.
