How do we handle data formatting while downloading result from function module ‘READ_TEXT’ ?

Our requirement is to Mass Change Recipe Process data. Logical sequence to be followed in achieving that is,

1. We need to convert the Recipe – Process Longtext into formats highlighted by the HTML tags(output of FM READ_TEXT)
2. Export/download the report(to excel)
3. Make required changes to the Longtext

Upload the Longtext so that system reads the formatted text and replaces the text formatting with required ITF/HTML tags to upload the data into Recipe Process – Process Elements tab. 

To export Recipe Process Longtext, as we must retrieve long text via FM ‘READ_TEXT’, we have the output as below with tags. Below is an example of a sentence in Longtext extracted from function module READ_TEXT

In the below Recipe example, For the below line in a Process step longtext, how do we make “Lines 3 / 4 Mixer:” Bold removing the HTML tags – strong in the exported file.

FM READ_TEXT Output : <(><<)>strong>Lines 3 / 4 Mixer:<(><<)>/strong>

And vice versa, how do we read a bold text from any input and add the HTML tags to upload the text into longtexts.

Can someone help on this please?

I think you want to convert the formatting used to store long texts in SAP (ITF) to HTML formatted text in an external file.

Take a look at function module  CONVERT_ITF_TO_HTML

Thanks for the response. Yes, i have tried converting the sap script text in ITF format into HTML format using the FM CONVERT_ITF_TO_HTML. But then, i still have HTML tags in the exported file which is not in user readable format. So, would like to have the formatting of texts instead of the tags.For example, instead of &lt;strong&gt;Lines 3 / 4 Mixer:&lt;/strong&gt , I need "Lines 3 / 4:" in Bold format in my exported file. Hope I am clear with my question.
