How do I invite external users to workspace?

Hi,

I've just managed to create a Build Workzone Advanced tenant using BTP and IAS. I've created a new workspace and it seems like internal users from IAS have access but I can't seem to figure out how to invite externals.

I added my private mail to the IAS as user type 'External' and in group 'Workzone_User_Type_public'.

In the management console the user is shown as active, with status 'Unaccepted Invite'. I reveived an invite from the IAS, but not from Workzone.

When trying to add the email to a workspace I get error 'Non company e-mail address'.

Based on this drawing, it seems I have to create an external workspace, not private or public, but only the last two are an option when creating a workspace.

Please advice.

Looks like you need to Configure External Users/Workspaces. This is not configured out of the box.

Thanks chris.stiles !

I've managed to follow the guide and activate all (most where already there from WZ onboarding)

I added a new gmail user to a workspace and got the invite - registered it, and I can see it as a public user in IAS (no groups though). Haven't created the real time provisioning yet, but did both a READ and a REDSYNC job and user is indeed in the 'Externals' list in Workzone. However, when logging in with the user, I still get the too familiar error

"App could not be opened either due to an incorrect SAP Fiori launchpad configuration or a missing role assignment.

Failed to resolve navigation target "#workzone-home". This is most likely caused by an incorrect SAP Fiori launchpad content configuration or by a missing role assignment."

Any suggestions?

Hi Perage, I have the same exact issue that you are facing, we see everything ok when sending an invitation to an external user, upon registration the user is created as "Public" on IAS and we see the user listed as external user on WorkZone, regardless of this when trying to log in, we get the error: "App could not be opened either due to an incorrect SAP Fiori launchpad configuration or a missing role assignment. Failed to resolve navigation target "#workzone-home". This is most likely caused by an incorrect SAP Fiori launchpad content configuration or by a missing role assignment.", Could you solve it? can you share how you manage to overcome this issue? Thank you!
