Hierarchy and Hierarchy Node Variables in BEx Query

Hello,

I would like to know how the Hierarchy and Hierarchy node variables in BEx Report.

I am trying to execute BW report where 0COORDER is used in the report. There are hierarchies available for this master data 0COORDER.

In the Query designer, there is one Hierarchy node variable restricted in the Filter section and also there is Hierarchy variable restricted for that object in the Query.

When the report is executed by giving the selection parameter for Hierarchy Variable, the report displays output not only for given selection but also others.

But when the report is executed by giving selections for Hierarchy variable and hierarchy node variable, the report shows limited correct data for the given selections.

Please note that order is not available in the report in the initial layout.

Can anyone let me know how exactly does these variables work.

Hi Lavanya,

Hierarchy variables enables you to choose which hierarchy you want to use, out of those available in data source.

Hierarchy node variables enables you to choose which portion of a hierarchy you want to display in the report.
