Help us find a new name

Dear community,

It's been brought to our attention that our new initiative for a 24 hour online event doesn't exactly fit the mold for an SAP Inside Track. This is due to the definition of an Inside Track to be a:

An SAP Inside Track is a local grassroots community organized event where SAP Community Network members come together to share knowledge, expertise, and network. Often these sessions are streamed and recorded for space and time shifting.

Now the word "Local" can't really be used for an online event and as we dare to complete a 24 hour event to satisfy all time zones as well as collecting money for GirlsWhoCode, we thought it better to find a more suitable name for our event. And who better to ask than our special community.

So please help us and by commenting on this post, if you find a name you really like, please upvote it. The name with the most votes on Wednesday at 12 CET will be our new name. Please be patient with us as we need to change a fair bit of our material to encompass the new name. However, we don't intend this to slow us down as we keep on working hard to provide all of you the first 24-hour community-driven event.

What about "SAP Online Track" (sounds similar to SAP Inside Track)

and add a "release" similar to the SAP S/4 Release Names which would result in

"SAP Online Track 2005"

How about SAPATHON OR SAPATHON 2020

'SAPATHON 2020' or 'SAPATHON' A 24 hours Marathon for sharing knowledge and Inspiring people by SAP Community.

Why SAPATHON - If you look at most of marathon run, always there is a great cause (charity or help) behind most of marathon run , and exactly that's what we are trying to do using share our sap knowledge. SAPATHON is simple and catchy i guess it is something people would understand without even reading about.

It sounds to me like your event is most similar to this format:

with the focus on:

• Schedule is covering all time-zones
• streaming/recording only
• charity approach
• .. and now with an open call4speakers towards the community. (Great!)

So the association with "Marathon" fits pretty nicely IMHO.

Thanks for support, what i felt is all the marathon we run for great causes (charity or helping people) and this is exactly we are doing through this event. And this time with SAP knowledge instead of continuous run.

Not sure how no one suggested the obvious SAP Outside Track. Because - hear me out in this - you can actually participate while being outside, as long as you stay within wifi range or splurge on cell data. It will be in May, so perfect weather.

Plus, "the grassroots movement" - well, where is this grass at? Outside, duh.

The fact that the event will be rebranded makes me think SAP is organizing it.

This is an event handled only by volunteers, where none of us "currently" are hired by SAP. However we wouldn't say no to any volunteers from SAP as this is a community event, no matter the background or job history.

Each year on Dec 31 going into January 1, the German TV-station 3sat airs recordings from pop concerts and nothing else. They call it "Pop around the clock".

So, how about "SAP around the clock" for what you plan?

When I read about the new event format the first time I immediately had the 24-hours race of Le Mans in mind. So maybe 'The 24-hours of SAP Community' ... ?
