We setup a Windows 2012 R2 server to host Crystal Report Server. (currently 64-bit, 8GB ram like the requirements said) I'm using the trial version so I can make sure it will work with our application before we buy it. I ran through the install and used the defaults. When I look at the server list, (3) have some sort of issue. I've never setup the application before and I've been searching on SAP website for an hour and can't seem to find anything, extremely hard to find anything on it so i'm posting this in hopes someone at SAP will help me with these issues,
ConnectionServer32 State = 'initializing' but also says 'disabled'
CrystalReports2013ProcessingServer = says "This server has configuration errors" State = 'Running with errors' also says 'disabled'
CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer state = 'stopped' and is 'enabled' has the following error.
The executable could not be launched. Possible reasons are insufficient RAM or
disk space, or an invalid filepath or working directory. Actual reason:
CreateProcess error=14001, The application has failed to start because its
side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or
use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail

Download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update x86 and x64 executables from:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=26347
Make sure you have minimum 16 GB RAM

Jawahar, Your sugguestion worked with a slight twist. I went to this page (http://scn.sap.com/community/bi-platform/blog/2013/10/28/) which talked about the ConnectionServer32 and MS C++ MFC update. After reading though the posts ... I installed both 32bit & 64bit updates, rebooted the server, then ran the Crystal Server setup in "repair" mode. This corrected the issues I had with all 3 servers. The health status on 2 of them is a gray circle but all of the servers show 'running' and 'enabled'. I'm going to ask our server admin to up the RAM from 8GB to 16GB as this was also mentioned. We'll see if that helps the health status turn to solid green.
Thank you ALL for your help and sugguestions. I really, really appriciate it. Now that I'm past that hurdle, i just have to see if my application works with it.
Hi Scott,
You should refer to Supported platform guide for SAP Crystal Server 2013(as posted by Istvan in the previous response) and use ONLY the supported components before this server install as these components are compatible and tested by SAP beforehand.
Do share the findings once impleted at your side.
Thanks,
Arun
