Hello all,
We have handheld device "Honeywell Dolphin CT60" on Android OS with Chrome browser accessing web based application in SAP Backend system. Need your feedback on the questions below
1- Is the Honeywell Dolphin CT60 handheld device compatible with SAP SSO (using one time password authentication feature)? Is a maintained list for compatible devices?
2- What Secure Login Software are needed on the handheld and on the Secure Login Server for the handheld device to establish secure connection with Secure Login Server and get authenticated to provision X.509 certificate to access backend web application?
Regards,
Asif

Hi Asif,
in such a scenario you would usually use a SAML based authentication.
The Secure Login Client (which would fetch the certificate and put it into the certificate store) is not available for Android.
So usually, you activate SAML based authentication on the backend system. Then you can use either the Secure Login Server as a SAML IdP (including the TOTP login module) or any other SAML IdP that you like.
This setup works with basically any browser and has proven stable and usable at many customers.
The biggest question is always: How do the users authenticate? Because of shared devices, we usually end up with some sort of Password based login / OTP based login.
I hope this helps you a little bit. All the best for your implementation.
Best regards,
Tobias
