Hana XS Engine Installation

Hello Experts,

Currently I have a requirement to install Hana XS engine. The Hana version is HANA2.0 SP02.Presently the Database doesn't have any XS engine and running with the below services.

hdbdaemon | hdbcompileserver|hdbindexserver|hdbnameserver|hdbpreprocessor|

hdbwebdispatcher

What are the possible ways to install a XS Engine to our existing Hana Database?
I have searched some blog and bit confused over here. All it says about installing
XS Engine Advance runtime.
I referred the blog "

According to this If I go for XS advance one then additional services will be installed

hdbxscontroller, hdbxsexecagent, and hdbxsuaaserver

But my requirement is to install only the normal XS Engine with the service "hdbxsengine".

I tried running the hdblcm >> Install/upadte compoent option for existing DB . But it is only giving the option "Install SAP HANA XS Advanced Runtime version 1.0.63.292045"

Pleases suggest.

Finally I was able to get the classic XS Engine service in my Hana DB. Actually XS Engine comes as an Embedded service
with Index Server in case of MDC.

So it was already there in the database, embedded with Index Server. I had to separate the XS Engine service for the tenant database.
Now the Classic XS Engine is up and running.

Hello Frank,

Many thanks for your reply. My current situation is that i don't have XS Engine Service running on the Hana Database.
So my first priority is to install the XS Engine service.

I checked the blog. It says "you might have noticed the “XS Engine is up and running” splashscreen is there but the rest of the XS Classic features are not.".

But in my case the XS Engine service is not there.

Please suggest how to install the XS Engine Service on the existing Database.

Hello Debaditya,

I don't think it is possible to install HANA without the XS Server. Therefore, to enable it, you only have to set the instances property of the xsengine section in the daemon.ini configuration file to value 1.
