Hello All,
Is it possible to create HANA CDS views (not ABAP CDS views) based on existing tables within the HANA db by connecting to HANA db on Cloud?
These are the things I explored so far in my attempt to created HANA CDS views from existing HANA db tables on Cloud
1. I was not able to connect to the HANA db using the Business Application Studio on BTP because for some reason the HANA db driver extension is not available there. Did anyone encounter such issue and what to do
2.I was able to connect to the HANA db on Cloud using VS Code
I have not done this before and I have been exploring ways for creating HANA CDS views from existing HANA db tables in VS Code
I installed extensions for HANA db explorer, CDS language support but could not find much in terms of tutorials as to how to go about connecting to the hdb and creating a CDS
Could anyone please give some directions on this?
Thank you

.hdbcds files are deprecated (see Moving From .hdbcds To .hdbtable | capire )
If you want to create .cds files on top of existing tables, you should use the annotation @CDS.persistence.exists (see Configure an SAP CAP Application to Work with Native SAP HANA Artifacts | SAP Help Portal )
