Good practice for attributes setup for Business Critical Processes

Hi team,

My company is considering tweaking definitions and categorisation of business critical processes. This gives us an opportunity to, at the same time, review and potentially uplift how we track business process criticality.

We intend to introduce a BPMN diagram-level custom attribute and are considering two options to track Business Process criticality:

  1. Data type: drop-down box, with pre-defined criticality values
  2. Data type: Dictionary link, with pre-defined values defined in the Dictionary.

I would appreciate if you could share:

  • your view of pro's and con's of both approaches,
  • whether you have a different approach to track criticality of business processes, and
  • whether your process criticality is managed centrally, by one team or modellers can edit process criticality attributes.

Thanks.

Kind regards,

Vladimir
