GL Accounts Balance App

Hello experts,

I hope everyone is doing well.

I kindly request you help and advice for solving the business challenge that I have.

Let me explain my requirements, I need to deploy a FIORI application with the GL Balances with filtering on Ledger, GL account, Period, Fiscal Year and an interval of Posting dates and the following fields has to be displayed:

• Ledger
• GL account
• GL account description
• Initial Value (Balance for the previous period)
• Debit for the period
• Credit for the period
• Balance for the period
• Initial value + Balance for the period 

To try to achieve this I have looked at the analytics application from SAP "Journal Entry Analyzer", didn't help because I can't get the previous period balance. After this I searched about the VDM and tried to work around with the tiles "Custom Analytical Queries" and "Custom CDS Views" to enhance the CDS C_GLLineItemsQ0001 and I_GLAcctBalanceCube but didn't work either. Now I'm thinking of building custom CDS with FIORI elements to able to achieve the requirements.

Could you give me some advice how to better achieve this? Or maybe a different approach that could help?

I too am facing the same issue wrt getting the previous period's balance. If the report is run for a specific postingFrom and postingTo date for a specific year, how do u get the balance brought forward from the previous year ? This is always a requirement from business, im surprised its not readily available via I_GLAcctBalanceCube, unless we looking at the wrong CDS View ?
