Generic extractor

Hello Experts,

Heres the situation:

I created a Generic Extractor in the source system (a BW system), and have activated it, it was assigned to the 'BW' application component.

Now when i come to my target BW system (yes, the source and the target are BW systems each), and go to the same application component and 'Replicate Metadata', I donot find my datasource listed.

Could you please help..?

Sai,

Change the application component area in R/3 and Reactivate the data source and replicate.You should be fine.

Hi Ak,

I didn't get it, post changing the application componnet and activating it n the source (here a BW system);

Do you mean that i 'Replicate Datasources' option fro the source system or i select the 'Replicate Metadata' option after the display datasource treee option.

Sai,

Do you see and extract data in RSA3? If yes then you should replicate once more and try casue you assigned BW component in R/3.

You wont get this Data sourc in Metadata.

The application component in the sourcec is 'BW' only.

Yes i'm able to see data in the etractor checker.

But, should i still do a 'Replicate Datasources' activity by right-mouse-clicking on the sourcesystem in the target BW system...??

Sai,

In the Target BW system right click on BW component area and then replicate.Look for this data source under BW application component .

Hi,

The datasource appears under the Data Mart of target system. If you create a data source in BI, then that will appear only under Data Mart.
