Our SAP FOCUSED RUN 4.0 FP02 HARDWARE is already out of support and we're planning for a hardware migration. Unfortunately, FRUN does not support system copies, even when IP addresses, hostnames and SIDs remain unchanged. The manual configurations during migration encompass several tasks, including re-installing and configuring the SDA and redo managed system setup.
Since we have 1000+ managed systems it will be a tedious work to redo everything, this is why we're seeking any suggestions and input, please for other alternatives on how to migrate FRUN hardware.

Hi Calvin,
System copy normally results in the hostname change. Changing the hostname, changes the FRUN GUID in the LMDB and it leads the FRUN and managed system configuration missing. This is what the FRUN master note mentioned that System Copy is not supported yet.
Keeping the same VM hostname, SID, installation number can maximum preserve the existing configurations. Here are some important hints that SAP Focused Run system related:
1. Keep the SAP Web Dispatcher URL stable to make sure SDA to FRUN communication works smoothly.
2. Make sure that in LMDB the old Focused Run System is updated after system move with the new SLD data supplier.
3. Moving the FRUN to a new DB server changes the LMDB GUID, which more or less affects the applications. This is a case-by-case discussion with all applications involved. So, it is easier to ensure FRUN GUID is stable that's to make sure SAPDBHOST, SID, Installation unchanged (which is in fact relatively easy).
4. Make sure the ordering and you have a fallback option in case of issues.
Best regards,
Vera Jiang
