How should the hostname be defined on SAPapplication servers running on AIX 7.2?

Must it be the FQDN or the shortname?

Hi Bert,

the choice between FQDN and short name is completely independent from the operating system type and version. The usage of FQDN is governed by the services and components used in your landscape. For instance, if you want to use HTTP-based URL frameworks such as Web Dynpro applications, you have to specify the DNS domain name for the SAP system. For more details, refer to the installation guides (e.g. for SWPM 1.0).
