FMs or BAPIs shall be used to update the PIRs i.e. MD62

Dear Experts,

Please suggest more appropriate Function Modules (FMs) or BAPIs that can be used to update the Planned Independent Requirements (PIRs) in MD62. We need to split the PIRs based on the requirement segment values through a custom transaction.

We are currently on SAP S/4HANA 2022 and have tried using the FM PLANBEDARF_UPDATE, but are encountering difficulties in splitting the PIRs as required. Your recommendations and insights would be greatly appreciated.

PLANBEDARF_UPDATE is an update task FM; using this FM in customer code is bad practice (these FMs mainly execute the final SQL Abap statements that update the database, but ignore most, if not all, checks and dependencies).

It is better to look for a BAPI similar to BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CHANGE in the BUS3027 Planned Independent Requirement business object.
