Flavor import not allowed

Hi all,

we decide to reinstall SAP Screen Personas from Service Pack 12 back to Service Pack 11. Problems with Icons and test the new features.

By reimporting our flavors in Service Pack 11 we earn an error message: The flavor was created in an newer SP:312. Import not allowed.

This is of course not so nice and we are now in a dilema. Upgrade again to Service Pack 12 or stay in Service Pack 11 and recreate all flavors.

Also a question when we create some flavors in a Service Pack, which is higher then the customer Service Pack then import the created flavors to the customer that is not possible at the moment?

Has someone a solution, to solve the problem without upgrade again to Service Pack 12?

Are you able to delete all the flavors (completely from Database) and then try the reimport?

Hi thomasm.,

i deleted all flavors from the Database. Then i reinstall Service Pack 11 and reimport all the falvors created in Service Pack 12. Then I changeg the PERSONAS_VERSION from 312 to 311.

For all flavors in Transaction SMEN the flavors are all empty.

For the other flavors in other Transaction the flavors work all like in Service Pack 12.

Hi Thorsten,

Each SAP Screen Personas Service Pack (SP) is released with new functionality which often requires updates to the flavour format. Therefore, flavour changes created with a newer SP version are not always technically compatible with older SP releases.

Even though you can technically override the SP version check by manually editing the version metadata in the flavour ZIP package and then importing flavours created in a newer SP, it is absolutely not advisable. Doing so is not only unsupported but also may cause various compatibility issues. Therefore, please use SP12 or later to import and use SAP Screen Personas flavours created in SP12.
