Fiori Apps in S4 communicating with Non OData Services in backend

Hi All,

We want to have a Fiori App in S4 which should be able to communicate with Non OData Service in S4 backend.

We would register an ICF service with a Rest HTTP service. But this will be not an OData Service.

Technically this should be possible but i have not seen any example of that.

In internet i have found examples as Fiori Apps communicating with OData services registered in Gateway.

Would like to know is it possible ? Is it possible to register an Non OData service or an ICF Rest HTTP service with Gateway ?

Is it just a non OData Service implemented as a ICF handler or is it a 3rd party REST service? If it is the second what authentication does it require?

I have both the requirements and would like to know the recommendation for both of them.

1. Non OData Service as ICF handler

2. 3rd party rest (Non OData) service authenticating using OAuth auth code flow.

For requirement 1) you shoul try to return JSON in or ICF handler so you could use the JSON Model in SAPUI5.
