Hi ,

I am trying to do Flat File Extraction on BI 7.0 System :

I have the CSV file to be loaded with four fields f1 , f2 ,f3 ,f4 , In data source creation in the proposal tab , If i give 4 records and press load example data i get the followin filed in a single row like :

f1f2f3f3 Char 14 ,

My fields are merging instead of displaying as

F1

F2

F3

F4

My DTP mapping also have only one row , How to bring four fields ?

Hi,

I think this is due to Data Separator value.

In <b>Extraction</b> tab, check the <b>Data Separator</b>

if the <b>Data Separator</b> is ;(Semicolon) change it to ,(Comma) and then try <b>Load Example Data</b>.

Now i can see the 4 fields in both sides in transformation , But how to link

the two boxes , That is how to draw the arrows to make transformation

Hi,

Click on the field and drag the mouse pointer to the corresponding field of the right side. An arrow will be created linking those fields.

Hi Renjith,

Please check whether your flat file it is in CSV format or not.
