Field Values in Intelligent Event Processing custom event

There are two fields ("Event Name" and "Event Context") in the setup of a custom event via Intelligent Event Processing in Cloud ALM. Does anyone have any experience using these two fields?  I hope I can add an object name and then a condition so the event truly is 'Intelligent' in nature.

I am aware that it is not a good practice to have all custom developed Intelligent Events, but I believe they can be quite useful.

Hi, 2023_Kurt,
From built-in help in IEP, I see a definition for Event Name:

For Event Context, I do not see anything specific to IEP itself-> I will request this be added.

It appears that the various Use Cases document what they want for Event Context :

Business Process Monitoring:

  • Event Context: You can enter an asterisk (*) in this field or a pattern of the event name. For example if the event name is Billing Documents Not Posted to Accounting, you can enter the pattern, *Billing Documents*.

Business Service Management:

  • Event Context: Enter the service name as found in the Service Information tab of an event for this service. You can enter an asterisk (*) in this field or enter the pattern of the service name. For example if the service name is MyAIN_01, you can enter a pattern, *MyAIN*.

Health Monitoring:

  • Event Context: You can enter an asterisk (*) in this field.

Integration Monitoring:

  • Event Name: Enter the event name found under the Event Configuration section. You can enter an asterisk (*) in this field.

  • Event Context: You can enter an asterisk (*) in this field or a pattern of the event name. For example if the event name is Erroneous CPI messages, you can enter the pattern, *CPI*.

Job & Automation Monitoring

  • Event Context: You can enter an asterisk (*) in this field or a pattern of the event name. For example if the event name is Critical Execution Status for job detected, enter the patter *Critical Execution*.

Hopefully this information is helpful to you.
    Best regards,
    Paula

Thank you for the reply. i have browsed the page you offered, but I was hoping someone had some concrete examples for Health Monitoring IEPs. If i figure out/find out anything, I will pass it along.

But what about the other field, "Event Context"? I cannot find any help on that field at all.

Hi, 2023_kurt,
If you see my original reply, I direct you to each use case for documentation showing an explanation of what should be used for Event Context.  Did you see that?

Best regards,
Paula

Now that I have had enough coffee... I do see where you said you would add it as it is not available yet. Thank you very much!
