Field DELI_SERV_TYPE & DELI_SERV_NUMBER of Entity AD_POSTAL are grayed out in MDG-M.

Hi Team , We are using S/4 HANA 2023 SP02 ON PREM solution and we are having an issue with our MDG application where Field DELI_SERV_TYPE & DELI_SERV_NUMBER of Entity AD_POSTAL are grayed out. Does anyone know what could be the reason and how to fix it.

Hi Anirban , Thank you for your reply . But the fields are in the governance scope of the data model. I believe there is something else which is making these fields grayed out and I am unable to find .

Hi All , 

I have just observed that Field DELI_SERV_TYPE & DELI_SERV_NUMBER is becoming editable as soon as we add ERP Customer data . So it solves my issue.

Hi @ajayakumarmishra ,

The field properties can be changed in multiple places. You can debug and check if there is any code that makes the field grayed out. The first place to check is the Field Properties BADI. Another location is the handler class, which has methods such as ADJUST_PROPERTY_VALUE  and GET_FIELD_PROP. Additionally, check the feeder class method GET_DATA. Also, verify the configuration of fields based on workflow steps in the process configuration section.

Hi Aditya, thanks for your response. I am aware that field properties can be changed in several places and I can debug to find out the reason why the field is grayed out. The reason for my post was if anyone knows why the fields are grayed out. I will find out the reason and update here, which might be useful for someone else in the future.
