Failed to update setup engine executables: Crystal Reports 2020 64-bit

I've browsed the board looking for answers and found some other threads with things to try, however nothing has worked. I've even directly engaged support and they asked me to look here.

I'm trying to install Crystal Reports 2020 on a Win10-64 bit workstation. However, after the install has extracted and the install begins, it quickly returns the error "Failed to update setup engine executables. Program will exit." I've tried everything from ensuring all 'users' have full control over the folder permissions to fully disabling antivirus. There's another thread that details some things to try, which I've tried all of them and nothing seems to work. This happens on multiple workstations at my hospital, even laptops.

When looking at the logs, the "ErrorsAndWarnings" log shows the following error:

Error: Can't rename: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\setup.engine_temp to: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\setup.engineError: Error updating installed version of the setup engine. Aborting..Error: Can't update the installed setup engine executables. Aborting.Error: Failed to update setup engine executables. Program will exit.

The last lines in "setupengine" log show this:

12:14:05.030 Set up temp directory...

12:14:05.365 Copying updated bootstrap files...

12:14:05.365 Copying updated setup engine files...

12:14:05.365 Copying folder setup.engine...

12:14:06.830 Error: Can't rename: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\setup.engine_temp to: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\setup.engine

12:14:06.846 Error: Error updating installed version of the setup engine. Aborting..

12:14:06.846 Error: Can't update the installed setup engine executables. Aborting.

12:14:06.846 Error: Failed to update setup engine executables. Program will exit.

Unfortunately, the logs are just telling me that it can't do something, not WHY it can't do something. I'm hoping the application's experts might have a better understanding of what's happening than me.

Big Edit: Sorry, I mean to clarify that I am logged in as local admin and running the installer as admin

I have found that a required corporate installed application on the workstation: McAfee MVISION EDR was the cause of the problem. I had to work with our corporate security team, but even with the McAfee antivirus disabled, EDR was still causing the error. Because all workstations in the enterprise are required to have this installed, there was no workstation that would allow the install to succeed.

The install worked once we fully uninstalled MVISION EDR.
