Failed to creat and fill BIA index

Dear Guru,

When i try to create BIA index for an infocube from the context memu:'Maintain BI accelerator index',

the first step is "Do you want to create the BIA index for InfoCube 'xxx'?"

I will click 'Continue', the system is start to create BIA index for this infocube,

But after a while,

It will give out an error message as below:

"An error occurred. Choose "Continue" to start again from the beginning."

Creation of logical index 'ZICMS1' terminated. Error text:

An index already exists with the same name;index=w

bc_zicms1,location=amdn695:30003 2003

Creation of BIA index for InfoCube 'xxxxx' terminated during activation

Hi Li,

I suggest to try it through a process chain, instead of manual steps. Just create a process chain to delete the BIA index for the cube and fill / activation. If this approach also doesn't work, then you need to restart your BIA server, as the issue could be because of some inconsistent index storage in BIA server and it might get flushed off by restarting the BIA server.

Hello Ravi,

Yes, we did it in the process chain beforehand, and after it failed, we do it manually,

I also agree with you to restart the BIA server,also got confirmed with our Basis guys(But we didn't restart it).

However today, when i do it again this morning, also the issue occured, but i click 'Continue', the system response the BIA index is successfully created, Thank you anyway on it.
