Fiori app F3036 Manage Search Models opens in a display only mode while a have SAP_BR_ADMINISTRATOR role assigned and SAP_ALL profile for full authorisation.
I have found that app F3036 can manage only new CDS$* (CDS based) search object connections. For all the other [SID]* (legacy technology based) search object connections one must still use ESH_COCKPIT transaction to activate/deactivate.
