External Break Point not getting triggered in Workflow activity

Hello Experts,

I am new to Workflow. I have created one simple test WF in the system. I have created a BOR and method. WF contains only one activity with select statement. This statement is just for testing purpose. I have placed a external Break-point with correct WF user i.e. SAP_WF**.

I have activated the WF without any error, placed a external Breakpoint, but it is not getting triggered. I have gone thru so many videos and blogs but not able to identify the issue. Can someone please help me. 

Below are the SS of WF.

2. Activity, has no biding as its just for testing purpose. Later I will be passing dynamic user as per the logic.

It's very difficult to debug the workflow. Background work items are executed asynchronously by the workflow user, not yours (workflow user = the one of RFC destination WORKFLOW_* in the transaction code SM59; these RFC destinations are defined in SWU3, i.e. either WF-BATCH or SAP_WFRT). Solution: see SWW_BREAKPOINT in the SAP note 2197117 - Debugging of background work items - SAP for Me.

For information, a workaround is to test in BOR (SWO1 > Test) instead of workflow, because the test runs in dialog.

Thank you for being so responsive on this post. I truly appreciate your efforts and help.

I have tried the suggestion as per you i.e. to test BOR, its working fine with normal BP.

I have also gone thru the Note you shared; it says, "The external debugging is possible only for dialog users because the debugging is linked to the WINGUI session."

The user SAP_WFRT is a service user. Does it mean that Workflow's BOR- Code cant be debugged.

T-code SWW_BREAKPOINT, sets the BP for only current logged in user and no option available for changing the user.

SWW_BREAKPOINT is not concerned by the user problem. Read again the note 2197117.
