Export File Issue in SAC

Hi Experts,

Need your advice. Actually, I am trying to transport one dimension from the SAC Source tenant to Target tenant, with a File System transport option, I have collected the dimension in the export job and the export job got completed successfully. However, I couldn't be able to see the export file downloaded in my system. Even I have checked the downloads, it is not showing the export package file downloaded.

Could anyone assist me what could be the reason behind or any workaround?

Appreciate for your quick responses.

Hi @mahioct,

Transport > Export > File System is deprecated.

Instead you can use Transport > Export > Content Network Storage.

Though if you use File System, the tgz file should have been downloaded into your Downloads folder.

Yes, the file system is deprecated. However, the option you suggested regarding Content Network Storage works for exporting or importing data both within the same tenant and across tenants. That said, if someone intends to take a backup at the OS level, it will primarily capture the model structure. Specifically, for imported models (whether sourced from CSV or other sources), the data itself will not appear upon re-importing. In such cases, you would either need to re-import the CSV file or schedule a data import job. please confirm

When you export objects through ACN, you also have option to include data( model fact data or dimension master data), import will be also import data accordingly.

Hi William_Yu, could you please clarify the steps? I didn’t quite understand your point. I created data using a CSV file, but when I export it from Content Network Storage to my local system and then re-import it into SAC, the data is not being retrieved in the model

File system is a legacy feature.  It's recommended to transport content via content network storage. In your case, you even don't have to download package file manually to local system, instead you can direct export content to your target tenant. Of course, you can also download package from content network storage if it's needed.
