Export Documentation in Solution Manger 4.0 and import them in Solution Manager 7.2

Hi SolMan experts,

I was asked to export documents in Solar01 and Solar02 in Solution Manager 4.0 and import them in Solution Manager 7.2. I started with 7.2 and never used 4.0. I googled and also searched here but didn't find anything very helpful. I realized the concepts and structures are totally different between the 2 versions of Solution Manger but would like to get your advice on approaches and any options for complete this task.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Y. T. for your answer. In term of Content Activation, it is necessary to first upgrade SolMan 4.0 to SolMan 7.1? FYI, we are currently using SolMan 7.2 for our ALM activities.

Hi Claire, typically the 4.0 could/should be upgraded throughout till recent 7.2. You'll need basis team to check.

I understand you have a 4.0 and seperate (new) 7.2 installation... so the content activation scenario might not be applicable anymore. If so, you'll end up with mass downloading from 4.0 and manual (mass) upload in 7.2 for the corresponding process nodes.

You can check the demo system https://support.sap.com/en/alm/demo-systems/internet-demo-system.html to test the upload functionality. Hope it helps.

Hi,

unfortunately the information is not mentioned anymore on the home page: https://help.sap.com/viewer/product/SAP_Solution_Manager/7.2.14/en-US?task=implement_task.

The topic you need is the so called "Content activation":
