Eventdriven Achitecture using BTPEA instead of CPEA - Do you have ideas?

Hi all,

i need your thoughts/ideas on something. A long time ago (just before they announced BTPEA), we had the wonderful option to use EventMesh for just a few euro's. Perfect for an event driven architecture. Just like SAP wants. Connect Process Automation or integration suite using Webhooks, wonderful!

Suddenly, BTPEA came along. During a partner call it was stated that some features now available in CPEA would be cancelled or put in some "container" in BTPEA. The advantage of BTPEA would be that all services could be consumed (CPEA didn't gave the option to do everything with credits).

During the partnercall we could see in a glimps that Eventmesh would not be available in BTPEA as a separate service, but would be included as a capability in Integration Suite........"but no worries! You can still get eventmesh using a subscription and/or payg to get your cost effective Event Driven Architecture up and running"

Well, a significant amount of months later (Q4-2024), this is the situation:

  • Eventmesh is only available in CPEA (which is officially not sold anymore (but you can still get it if you really want to)
  • BTPEA does not have a separate EventMesh option to activate
  • Eventmesh is only part of the Integration Suite Standard edition
  • Eventmesh is in no way to be bought using subscription and/or Payg (Advanced eventmesh doesn't count, that is more expensive than 1 integration suite tenant).

Considering the growth of Public Cloud customers with a basic need for integration (Base edition), how can we still utilize an event driven architecture?

Some suggestions:

  1. Just make Eventmesh available again in BTPEA
  2. Make it available as a PayG and/or Subscription option (and make sure we can keep it within on global account)
  3. Make it available in the Base edition of Integration Suite (i can live with that)

Just needed to get this of my chest.

All the best

Laurens
