Event when Workitem is generated for a User

Hi All, 

We are looking for a possibility to Trigger some additional Functionality whenever a Workitem is generated for a user(Irrespective of Workflows, Tasks). Information about the User who should Process the Work item must be available.

This functionality should call an External UI Application via Proxy to Notify the Application about a new Workitem for the user. 

Is there a way to achieve this ?

I don't see something generic. You say "for a user", do you mean you're interested only by dialog workitems? If yes, I guess you could enhance the end of the method CREATE_VIA_API or CREATE_VIA_WFM of CL_SWF_RUN_WIM_DIALOG. If no, I guess you could look at the method EXECUTE_INTERNAL of CL_SWF_RUN_CREATE_API_REQUEST or CL_SWF_RUN_CREATE_WFM_REQUEST which create the workitems.

Workflow debug was difficult some time ago. It's easier now with SWW_BREAKPOINT.
