Recently, we have launched a portal for ess/mss applications. The ESS overview iview shows an error whenever I have assigned permission to view Everyone, when we open the ESS menu application all application shows the same error " Page not found. Refresh the page or try again later. If the problem persists, contact your Portal administrator for assistance".

Please help...

In the backend system, again activate all applications but the issue is not resolved.

But the error is the same when we click on the ESS overview Iview application link.

ESS -> Overview -> Working time -> Leave overview click its shows the same error in all application.

Ritesh,

In the backend system, go into transaction SICF, leave the selection parameters at default and execute, then expand down into the path /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/. Scroll down the list of services until you find hress_a_ptarq_leavreq_appl. Is the service active? If it is, it will be in a normal dark black font vs a greyed-out font. You can double-check by right-clicking the service to bring up the context menu. If you see Activate Service as an option in about the middle of the menu, then it isn't active. If so, click that to activate it (and choose the second "Yes" option with the hierarchy icon in front of it to ensure all higher-level service nodes in the path to get here are also active).

I know someone asked earlier if the services were active, and you replied yes, but we need to double-check the specifics, as the "page not found" error implies an inactive service.

Cheers,
Matt

Please see that all configurations are done and working.

Hi Ritesh,

Have you associated your users with employees in infotype 0105, subtype 0001? Most ESS applications will fail unless the logged-on user has an assigned and active employee ID.

Matt

riteshsinghgaharwar ,

Is 15315 the UserID that the user uses to logon to ESS? That looks more like a Personnel Number (Employee ID), but that depends upon your policy for user account naming conventions.

The next thing to check is that you have done the System configuration in your portal for System Alias SAP_ECC_HumanResources and made it default. (via Portal path System Administration -> System Landscape).

Cheers,
Matt

FYI: if your response is a not a "direct" reply to something, the person you are replying to will not be notified of your reply unless you "@" tag them.

Yes, 15315 is the user ID used to log on to ESS.

I checked and configured the system Alias SAP_ECC_HumanResources as default but the issue was not resolved.

riteshsinghgaharwar ,

From the System Landscape Overview tab, if you select your SAP_ECC_HumanResources alias and then press the Test Connection button, does it work? This needs to be successful for any of the apps to work:

From there, if you press the Configure button, it should open the system in a new tab. Check that your properties are correctly configured:

Ok, I've reached the limit of attachments for this comment, so I'll add a second one with one more screenshot.

riteshsinghgaharwar ,

This is the critical configuration for the system. In the first group for Connector, the Group should be any logon group you have defined in the backend for load balancing. Message Server, SAP Client, and SAP System ID should be self-evident. I recommend using fully-qualified hostnames for the Message Server and any other hostnames on this screen. The same applies for the Internet Transaction Server (ITS) and Web Application Server (Web AS) sections. These define where WebGUI and WebDynpro ABAP links go, respectively. Most likely, the ITS Host Name and Web AS Host Name will be the same as your Message Server (at least in Sandbox), but if you use a Web Dispatcher for load-balancing or proxy purposes, then you need to put the Web Dispatcher hostname in these fields. The ITS Path and ICM URL Prefix need to be just as shown here.

Once this is configured, change to the Connection Tests tab, select all three options for System Connection Tests, and press Test. All three need to return a green checkmark:

If any of these fail, you will see a detailed description below of what exactly failed, which should help you to troubleshoot it.

Cheers,
Matt

Hi,

1.Check the logs under NWA>>troubleshooting>>logs an traces

2.Make sure the application is activated in SICF
