Errors while installing Crystal Reports Server 2020, OEM - DLLs failing to register

Good day,

I'm trying to install Crystal Reports Server 2020, OEM (just the client and SDK components) on a system with Windows Server 2019.

During the install I'm receiving the following errors (mostly relating to DLL registration):

It seems very likely that the problem is a missing component/redistributable but I haven't been able to track down the culprit. I have tried adding various VC++ redistributables to match another server where the SDK is already installed.

I saw, too, in another question someone recommended installing the Universal C Runtime, though my understanding is that with Server 2019 it should already be installed. And, even if that wasn't the case, it should be included in the VC++ 2019 redistributable.

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jay,

CR Server OEM is just the RAS Server, no client tools included.

Are you using version 4.3.1, that's SP 1?

Be sure you are logged in as a local PC admin and right click on the setup.exe and select Run as Administrator.

Typically when the installer fails to register the COM dll's it's either due to missing VC 2015 C++ runtime or permissions, run as admin.

I suggest contacting Support - SAP Support Portal Home and log an incident under the BI-BIP-INS component.

Thanks for the response.

One note, when I was referring to client components, I meant the option that comes up during install. It presents a tree like this:

An odd point regarding that, no matter if it's selected during install, when you go back to modify the installation it doesn't show as checked.

To the version: No, I have version 14.3.0.3532. I assume you meant 14.3.1... which means there is an update to get. I'll look at that next.

And, yes, we have been running as admin.

If the service pack release doesn't fix the issue I'll contact support, as you suggested.
