Error while Activating Database table

Dear Colleagues,

I have a situation here , A database table i had to delete, because while adjusting the Db from SE14 , the whole process did not complete , and Db got deleted , but the index at database level didnt. So i created a duplicate table (after taking the backup) , and now i Deleted the table completely from SE11. now the new table which i created (with the SAME NAME of old one), is not getting activated , it showing me an error, "cannot use duplicate index", this is the message in the log. Please help me in activating this database table , as i did not find any solution in the blogs.

Should i contact SAP or our basis team?

I think you have first to delete the index from the database using DROP statement and after you will be able to recreate it

Better is to search on SAP support about Index inconsistency

Did you try SE14 on indexes too?

Hello Raymond ,

Since i have created the table as a new table , so its not active. So cant use SE14.

Old table i had to delete (because of the reason explained in op), but somehow index of the old table still exists.

So as suggested by Frederic above , drop table either at sql level , or using ABAP program is the solution.

You have any other suggestion ?

I was able to activate the table , as suggested above first by dropping the index table using drop statement.

Hi Shavneet, I hope this finds you very good.

I'm experiencing the same issue as you. Could you please tell me how did you drop the index table? I guess that somebody from Basis team needs to do it because of the access... or there is any SAP t-code for doing it? My apologize for the question but I have ABAP expertise nor Basis.
