An error occurred during the installation of the SAP HANA Server:

Error checking sapinit
   Starting external program update-rc.d
Command line is: update-rc.d -n sapinit defaults
Output line 1: update-rc.d: error: unkown option
      Output line 2: usage: update-rc.d [-f] <basename> remove
      Output line 3: update-rc.d [-f] <basename> defaults
      Output line 4: update-rc.d [-f] <basename> defaults-disabled
      Output line 5: update-rc.d <basename> disable|enable [S|2|3|4|5]
      Output line 6: -f: force
      Output line 7:
Output line 8: The disable|enable API is not stable and might change in the future.
Program terminted with exit code 1

The server is running on Debian 12. I have already tried the workaround without success.

Are there any ideas or solutions to solve the problem?

SAP HANA Database Server is only supported on SLES (12 and 15) and RHEL.

Many thanks for the tip! Do you have another page for further information? I didn't read about it in the Installation Guide
