In Solution Manager 7.1 (SP 10) I am suddenly getting the the following err:
Service is unavailable. Pls use Maintenance Planer to do verification
The message occurs when attempting to perform a Verification Check on any Product System regardless if is ABAP or Java, and has one or multiple Technical systems within it.
Has this service been disabled, or have I managed to shoot myself in the foot?
Request clarification before answering.

see SAP Note 2305937. According to SAP it's only a temporary issue, but obviously they need seome time to fix it.

The note was not out there when I checked a day or two earlier. I am now trying to use Maintenance Planner which appears to be working except only offering me the option of unicode kernels for my
non-unicode systems. But that's being discussed in another SDN question as well as an incident question to SAP.

Yes seems like now landscape verification service is disabled. You can do verification and generate stack file through maintenance planner.
