Since a participant of one of our hands-on workshops ran into the same issue I want to share the solution or other hints I found.
1. In case of our participant it simply helped to reboot the PC.
2. I found hints that the issue occured when a certain JRE runtime was used. Here it might be helpful to use the latest installer from Eclipse that comes with a supported JRE which will be installed alongside with Eclipse.
3. The third solution was to change the network settings to direct "Window -> Preferences" here search for "proxy".

Hi Team,
I fixed the issue on myself.
I uninstalled Java on my system and re-installed and it is fixed.
Try with Oracle Java 8.

Do you get the same error when trying to connect via the the option "SAP Cloud Platform Cloud Foundry Environment" and then navigate through the dialogue by selecting your ABAP instance in your trial account?
