Hi Team, I have installed sap BI Platform support tool 2.0 in my local machine and when I am selecting Landscape configuration tab and selecting the server from the server list and clicking on the host settings and after entering username and password when clicking on validate it is throwing error Error connecting to Hostagent unable to validate the SAP Hostagent. This could be due to network connectivity, bad credentials,or misconfiguration. please try again. attached is the screenshot kindly suggest.
I appreciate the reply Toby. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks,
Bill

Hey Bill,
Doing good, thanks. Unfortunately, it's not possible to change the Host Agent port away from port 1128 (I think because it's an officially registered and reserved TCP port). The Host Agent configuration itself does not support it.

Toby

Hi Toby,
Our upgrades are done now. And I can get back on this. Port1128 is now working and when I get the URL from the server in the BI-Tool and I do get XML returned now.
The error I get now is. 'The SAP Host Agent was reachable. However, the operations file still need to be deployed to the host'. I did add the /usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/operations.d and then added files from my system to the new directory.
I don't know what I'm missing but I can't validate the servers. I know Host Agent is running since I can see the process running with the status command.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Bill
Hi Tanuj.
Could you please check the connectivity to the server from the client by taking the WSDL URL and pasting it into a browser? This should return some XML to the browser if the connection is working. If it doesn't connect then it could be that port 1128 is blocked between client and server.
Let us know the results.
Thanks
Toby

Hi Toby,
I hope you're doing well. Hows things going in sunny Lake Mary? Let everyone know I said hello.
I have this same issue. And when testing with the WSDL URL it just times out. And then looking on the Linux servers. Using netstat -lt port 1128 isn't listed. I'm thinking at this point that's the issue. I have one question. Is it possible to change the port to a port already open that isn't being used?
Thanks,
Bill
