Enhance Pace vs. Fix Pace in SAP Focused Build

Hello,

as now Enhance Pace has appeared, do we still need Fix Pace?
Is the functionality of Fix Pace not fully covered by Enhance Pace?
Are there still scenarios where Fix Pace is more beneficial than Enhance Pace?

Thanks for your answer.

Regards,

Sergey

Hi Sergey

the Enhance Pace does not replace the Fix Pace. The Fix Pace remains for the Hypercare phase in the project and runs on the regular release cycle (S1MR).

Both paces start with a Request for Change, but the Enhance Pace introduces the Focused Build Normal Change.

The Enhance Pace and FB Normal Change are intended for ongoing maintenance. They are decoupled from the release planning used in projects and uses a continuous cycle instead. (S1AI). Ideally maintenance runs on a dedicated maintenance landscape, not the project landscape.

This allows for ongoing maintenance once a project release has gone live, while allowing the next project release to begin development in parallel. Until now, this was only possible with classic ChaRM.

Also, the Enhance Pace is linked to the maintenance branch of solution documentation, while the Fix Pace is following the regular development branch.

Feel free to reach out, if you'd like more detailed clarification or even a quick demo.
