DTP Fails with error 'Provider with id 'BW4_FLP_NOTIF_PROVIDER' is registered but not active'

BW4HANA - DTP fails with error Provider with id 'BW4_FLP_NOTIF_PROVIDER' is registered but not active.
Checked this provider in SPRO notification channel settings and it's registered with the CL_BW4_FLP_NOTIFICATION_API provider class.

How to activate this provider?

That the error message is shown is a bug that is fixed with note https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2859164. Configuration of notification handling fixes the issue also, but it is optional if above note is implemented.
