Downloading Latest EBF for 12

Former Member

Could someone kindly please tell me where to download the latest EBF for Sybase 12 Solaris?

I have spent the last hour looking at broken links, broken HTML and the phrase:

We regret that this site is currently unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. For technical support issues, please call 1-800-8SYBASE...

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't know if this is relevant to your situation, but I emailed SAP about EBFs for the free Developer Edition and got the following reply:

"Developer Edition it is a free edition, so you are not able to dwonload ebf for that version, please let me know if you have a customer number in case you need to get Support."

AFAIK, the plan is to update the free Developer Edition download now and then to adapt it to a newer build. I don't know whether this has already been done (and how you would know that without trying a new download and look at its version information).

Thanks for the answers - I'm not using a free edition, I paid over 6K for a multi-cpu edition. Trying to even find a place to purchase a support agreement is a nightmare. So my next question is - how does one go about getting set up so you can download EBFs and how much does it cost? This shouldn't be this hard but I guess this is what we should expect now.

Sorry you are having such trouble. Unfortunately, in the move to SAP a lot of dying/dead links are still floating around. If you would like to e-mail me directly with your details, I can connect you with the right people to get things sorted out.

Assuming you have a valid SAP support contract, with an S-User set up with appropriate permissions, the instructions on how to download EBFs (now called 'Support Packages' or SPs), are here: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-54706

All of the 'We regret that this site is currently unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. For technical support issues, please call 1-800-8SYBASE...' webpages have been retired from sybase.com and are no longer available.

Please ensure you are now using support.sap.com for all of your SQL Anywhere SP download links.

You can download the latest EBF's for Sybase products through the SAP portal:

  1. Search for product in menu Support Packages and Patches
  2. Add EBF to Download Basket
  3. Download EBF by SAP Download Manager

Here's a link to SAP portal: https://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/download_basket/main.htm

You need user login and password, if you don't have please contact with your reseller.

Nowhere (at least, for free), as EBFs are not publicly available anymore.

Just some further links from this forum on the issue:

Yes, I'm aware that you may consider this a "post-mortem" information...
