Hello,

We are trying to connect SAP SLT to Azure database via DBCO connection.

We have configured the connection and network flows are also opened at the firewall.

Could you please help us understand if SAP SLT supports Azure SQL Database as a source?

Thanks,

Madhuri Ingale

Unfortunately, answer - NOT supported.

SLT need to create data base triggers on source tables. SLT supports all database types that are supported by SAP, but Azure is not supported DB and as consequence no scripts for Azure

Hello, I'm trying to connect SAP SLT to an Azure SQL Database (Azure SQL Server PaaS offering) via DBCO connection. I have configured the firewall and verified that network flows are open for ther required port 1433. For configuring the connection in SLT I used this connection string : OBJEMSSQL_SERVER=<DbServerName>.database.windows.net MSSQL_DBNAME=<DbBame> MSSQL_SE=1 Testing the connection return this error message : sql error 40.532 occured: Cannot open server "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" requested by the login. The login failed What is happening is that SAP SLT is resolving FQDN <DbServerName>.database.windows.net to its IP address "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx", then esatblishing the connection using this IP instead of the FQDN. As a result Azure SQL Server rejects the connection because it can't identify the tenant to which it needs do direct the authentication request. I'd like to know the correct way to configure SLT connection to be able to reach a multi tenant cloud database by its FQDN and not IP address. Or is there any work around for this. Thanks, Madhuri Ingale

Microsoft Azure is explicitly stated as not supported with SLT in 1768805 - SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server (SLT): Non ABAP-based Sources: "Especially Microsoft Azure is NOT supported (see SAP Note 2497147)."

There is no workaround for this.
