Display currency in same column as key figure in Analysis for Office

Hi,

We are using BW powered by HANA 7.5 SP 05 and Analysis for Office 2.4.

I want to display the currency in the same column as the key figure.

In the Eclipse query designer I have one characteristic in a row and one key figure in a column. I have 3 data records, two with currency = EUR and one with currency = GBP.

When both key figure values are 0, Analysis for Office Show two lines of data, one with EUR and one with GBP with the currency displayed in the same column next to the key figure. This is just what I want.

When the key figure for Euro is Changed to 10 and the GBP value remains 0 something strange happens.

The currency EUR is displayed in the column header.

Does anyone know how to prevent this display change. Any help will be appreciated.

I have found out that the setting for hiding or displaying the scaling factor can be made directly in Analysis for Office.

Select a crosstab cell Measures --> Show scaling factor.

Deactivating it in AfO gave the desired results. It seems the BEx Query settings are ignored in AfO.

I guess their logic is: 0 GBP equals 0 EUR, hence move the currency to the top of the column... personally, I would open an incident at SAP for this. We have quite a lot of issues with AO especially in combination with IP & BPC. Even the last available SP (2.4 SP4) is quite "buggy".

Anyways, it gets "stranger" (from end user point of view) when you put "amount in local currency" next to "amount in group currency". The first one will give you amounts with their currency next to it, the second one gives you amounts in the rows and the currency on top of the column. Talking about consistency, right?

You may well be right. Unfortunately, this is not the answer I had hoped for.

Thank you Martin for your help.
I was looking for this setting in the Design Panel, but couldn't find it there.
Right mouse click on the cell in the Analysis for Office output did the trick for me. I was not aware of an additional setting option there.
I also tried "Display Scaling Factors for Key Figures" in the query design, but that has no effect in the Analysis for Office output as you also found out.
