Hi,
In our organisation we have many SAP instances which are running on DB2 (LUW) as database, we can see we have below DB2 editions in our organistaion:
IBM DB2 Advanced Edition
IBM DB2 Advanced Enterprise Server Edition
IBM DB2 Enterprise Server Edition
As per IBM VPC licensing, it seems IBM DB2 Advanced Edition is bit cheaper as charges 1 VPC per core, regardless of processor make and model. So i was wondering, how we can change from IBM DB2 Advanced Enterprise Server Edition or IBM DB2 Enterprise Server Edition to IBM DB2 Advanced Edition with easy options ? Can we use db2iupdt to switch from one edition to another ?

GK Singh

Hello Singh,
If you have purchased Db2 license from SAP, you can find the software components contained in each Db2 version
in below note.
1260217 - DB6: Software Components Contained in Db2 License from SAP
The support process is described here:
1168456 - DB6: Support Process and End of Support Dates for IBM Db2 LUW
I am not aware of the need to make a change if it is purchased from SAP.
Thank you.
Kind regards
Maria
