We tried to find out whats the (real) difference between Netweaver Portal 7.31 and 7.40. Hopefully someone can help us.
As far we find out by now:
- 7.40 has HANA-Support (with the right Support Pack ![]()
- Compaired with PI: PI 7.40 has the same code basis as PI 7.31, the Support-Packs are just 5 number lower: PI 7.40 SP 4 is PI 7.31 SP 9. So, maybe thats the same with Portal?
SAP NetWeaver 7.4 AS Java is functionally equivalent to SAP NetWeaver 7.31 AS Java (Java codebases are identical)

Hi all,
Compaired with PI: PI 7.40 has the same code basis as PI 7.31, the Support-Packs are just 5 number lower: PI 7.40 SP 4 is PI 7.31 SP 9. So, maybe thats the same with Portal?
Is this reliable?
Or maybe do you have a link to comparison of Support Package Stacks at hand?
Many thanks in advance,
Sascha.

I'm getting: 7.40 - 7.31 = 0.09 not much difference really.

I have compaired the Release-Notes:
SP09 of Portal 7.31:
SP04 of Portal 7.40:
Looks like that here it is also 7.31 SP9 === 7.40 SP4
Maybe the only real difference is HANA Support.
