Difference between SAP BODS3.1 and SAP BODS4.2

What are the difference between SAP BODS3.1 and SAP BODS4.2.

Hi Arjun,

Could you please specify the reason for which you wish to understand the difference between both versions of SAP BODS ?

Majorly on high note - 3.1 is older version 4.2 is latest. 4.2 is with more enriched connectivity with source systems, more exhaustive Transformation collections and more flexible in terms of integration with external systems.

I believe that it is also not available for install. So if you are going to use it for further always preferable to hook up with 4.2 version.

Hi Arjun,

There are lot of differences, listing below of the differences.

1. For 3.1 no central management control, No workbench, No IS.

2. Designer is more or less similar, but few more transforms are been added in the latest versions.

3. Pushdown operation is highly optimized in the latter.

4. In 3.1 you'll not be able to connect with the latest Databases version available ex.HANA

5. SAP doesn't provides any support till 4.0 versions.
