Hi,
I'm new to Analysis for Microsoft Office (AFO). I use a lot of tables with many columns. I like to control the column width to ensure I can fit as much data on one page as possible. Doing this often makes it difficult to read column headers. I've found that I can create a custom style for column headers where I can set wrap text and a few other format settings and save it as a style. My problem is that I have to manually apply that style to every single column seperately. Is there a way to just make it my preferred default for any new member or measure column header somehow? Or is there a way to format multiple column headers at once in a way that the format stays linked to the member if new members are added later on?
Thanks!
Rob

Hi Rob -
First I would try creating table design rules as outlined in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VEmLGXKa6k
Second option (if table design rules doesn't work) is saving as a template
But try the table design rules first; the video shows it for the a row, but maybe you could try it as a column.

Hi Tammy,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I had been trying table design rules. After I created my new style ("1-Header"), I found that the only way to apply it was by creating a formatting rule. It takes about 6 clicks to apply this customer format to each column. For example, in the image below I had created the format rules for the first two columns in this worksheet, but I have several more to do yet. I expect to be using this tool quite a bit for Ad Hoc analysis over the coming years, so I just want to make sure I know the most efficient way to get the preferred formatting in place.
Is there anything you can share about the second option you mentioned (saving as a template)?
Thanks,
Rob
