Hello,
When, for master data, I have a separate tables for attributes and texts, like in BW, I can create a Text view and a Dimension view. I can associate the Text view to the Dimension view and that can be associated to an Analytical Dataset.
But if I don't have attributes, only texts, I associate the text view directly to the Analytical Dataset. This gives the warning that you should not associate more than one text entity.
You can deploy it anyway and it seems to work, but what is the proper way to do it to avoid these warnings?
Request clarification before answering.
I was getting the same error but i was able to fix using 2 steps
1.if you go to the view property pane >attribute >click the pencil icon and add a text column for one of the field which has a text usually description of the key field.
2.click on the edit compound key option(double key icon) and add the column for which you wish to add text association as representative key.
i hope it helps!

Hi,
@jorg_vdst , how can we map analytical dataset (fact) with text table having no common columns for mapping.
We have text table for attribute of a dimension and want to show text for attribute. We have created dimension and attach text table for dimension and as well as attribute text table. In the analytical model we can see description of dimension, but attribute description is coming as id and not text. What are we missing here.
Please let me know if more information is required. Any clue would be helpful.
Best Regards,
Arvind
I think the best practice is to follow the star schema design, firstly create a dimension(Master data attribute) and associate with text then associate the dimension to the FACT souce

I also have the same question. What is the best practice for text associations?

I just hope that these warnings never turn into errors 🙂
We have many analytical views, created long ago and in multiple projects, that have associated texts for the typical code and description cases (with multi-language support).
