DataAction copy step

I’m working on a story that includes a table with a forecast for the first six months of 2024, followed by predictions for the remaining months of the year. I need to copy the data for the first six months into a table with the version "Planning." Additionally, I want to copy the forecast data for the remaining months into the same "Planning" table. If i could do that using only 1 Data Action, it would be perfect.

How can I achieve this?

Is the source data on the separated below 2 versions? 

• Forecast: Forecast for the first six months of 2024
• Prediction: Followed by predictions for the remaining months of the year.

In addition, how can we set the first six months? Does the end user dynamically set it using the External parameter(ex, 202406) or does Data action refer to the Version dimension property(ex, CurrentPeriod = 202406)?

@MoonJunand @William_Yu1 Hi, at the moment i have following results showed at the screenshots. So the forecast is being copied to planing in 2024, but not to 2025 and 2026, but the actual is correct. I am trying to understand the logic of this situation but not getting there.

The CopyStep "PlanningFSE" is being used to copy the data from the forecast, and the "ActualToPlanning" is to copy the actual to planning. The actual is copping the first 6 mmonths of 2024, and the forecast has the data from the next six months, completing the year of 2024

@William_Yu1 The parameters must be, the target date, so the cliente can chose to what year he wants to copy the data for, and the date source, so he can chose what year he wants to copy the date from. I already have those parameters in my dataActions, but it doesnt copy to the year of 2025 and 2026, it only copies to 2024

I think the  copy from forrecast to planning is overwritten the second copy step from actual to planning for 2025 and 2026.

Right now i have my data actions like this and its working, but its not dynamic, i would like to make it dynamic

How dynamic would you like it to be? What parameter should user input ?

It should be fairly straight forward with data action, depending on how you would like to specify year and source/target version.
